Based on 54 reviewsMi 45 South is widely appreciated for its authentic Vietnamese cuisine, offering a diverse menu with generous portions and a focus on traditional flavors. Reviewers frequently highlight dishes like pho, deep-fried chicken wings, and toasted squid for their rich, savory taste and satisfying textures. The restaurant’s casual atmosphere and bilingual service contribute to a welcoming experience, especially among Vietnamese-speaking patrons. While the overall food quality and authenticity receive praise, some guests note strong aromas typical of Vietnamese cooking, such as fish sauce, which may require adjustment. The variety and flavor profiles appeal to both pho enthusiasts and newcomers, making Mi 45 South a well-regarded local destination for Vietnamese fare.
My cousin recently introduced us to this place and we are hooked. She ordered their Deep Fried Chicken Wings with Butter. What a huge portion. It was fantastic, crispy, savory and butter. It was accompanied with a side of lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes. After eating this meal, I had to go in person and try out other items. Today I had the Salt Toasted Squid - Muc Rang Muoi. It was crispy, buttery, lightly salted and tossed in peppers. The meal was fantastic. I also got to try my friends Com Tam Suon Dac Biet. The pork chop was nicely marinated and succulent. It was accompanied by a light and savory broth. Overall the food was exceptional and the best Vietnamese in that area. I would definitely frequent this place. The owner is also super nice. The service was fast and the restaurant was clean.
Very nice authentic viet place. They had such a wide variety of options on the menu! Really glad to have another nice pho place nearby. The waitress spoke in both English and viet. The food was good, I enjoyed my special pho noodles and the broth. The small pho was actually really big. The viet coffee with condense milk was strong as expected and nice. My sister and mother bough the Hu Tieu dry and soft version P.S- don’t worry about meat being pink. If you had pho before you know they’re usually thin and will get cooked by the broth
4 stars because when you first walk in it reeked like fish sauce. Overall service and food were good. I got their main dish (H2) combination rice noodle. It has chicken, pork, fish balls, and shrimp. Im not a fan of shrimp thats battered with a shell still on it. Other than that everything was good.
Pretty authentic Vietnamese food in a basic casual restaurant. Mostly Vietnamese customers. Good spread to choose from.
SO DELICIOUS!!!! 10 years ago, I was not a fan of pho. It lacked the full body flavor of ramen, and the noodle texture of pho never appealed to me either. But my roommate loves it so we experimented with this place and it was a HIT! I'm a bit of a hippie & naturalist, but I still cant really adjust to the herby taste of most traditional pho. I much rather enjoy RICH flavors, and the Beef noodle pho we ordered was exactly that! It was exquisite Lol still wasn't a fan of the noodles but that's a personal preference. Besides, we devoured everything! The soup based had alot of flavor, seasoning was perfect - nothing had to be adjusted; the dish wasn't too salty, the broth wasnt thick - it was easy to drink, and it didnt have an oily/fatty texture. The restaurant is a large enough establishment on Scarsdale with adequate parking, making it suitable for large family gatherings. This quaint mom n' pop also has such a familial vibe because they're so one-on-one, engaging in day-to-day conversations with their customers like old friends would Overall, a great place to dine
Most Vietnamese places that I've gone to have your typical pho, bahn mi, vermicelli plate and rice dishes but this spot has a lot more variety. I actually tried their wonton egg noodle soup instead of something I usually go for (i.e. pho). The broth was fantastic! I think it's the same soup as Hu tieu where it was light yet flavorful. For the topping, there were pork slices, pork wonton, and a fried shrimp wrap(?) I'm personally very picky when it comes to pork and it's gaimy taste so I gave my wontons away to my coworkers. Everything else about this dish was great though! I also had a bite of my coworker's combination stir fried noodles and it was just okay. I've had better at different restaurants but it's not a bad choice if that's what you're craving. As for service, I'm not sure if they're used to people knowing what they want to order before they get into the restaurant but our server was hovering over our table from the minute we were seated so that was interesting. Also as a heads up, all the workers here are Vietnamese- but don't be discouraged about trying spot if you can't speak the language! Most customers here are Vietnamese too (that's how you know it's legit) but there were also good number of people from different ethnic backgrounds who all seemed to really enjoy their food! Overall, I'm glad I found this restaurant and I'm looking forward to trying other dishes from them.
The food here is Amazing. My colleges and I enjoyed Everything we had. The fried Tofu is my favorite dish. Thank you Mary for taking care of us!!! Nicolette
Food was good. Nice flavor in the pho and the soft pork with rice noodles were both on point. The service was, family funny. You can tell the kids working here are related and it was humorous to see them cutting up with each other while we ate. It’s definitely a family style restaurant. The food came out really fast and was fresh. The restaurant is bright and clean with plenty of seating.
